API workflows and integration guide

Ask in your own words

“Where do structure and momentum conflict for NIFTY50 across the supported timeframes?”

The API returns Draconic's final synthesized analysis, coverage metadata, and usage information. It does not expose raw proprietary payloads or place orders.

Draconic Market IntelligenceStructured result

Multi-timeframe state, strongest evidence, conflicts, and what would change the read.

StructureEvidence synthesized, not a raw indicator dump.
MomentumEvidence synthesized, not a raw indicator dump.
VolatilityEvidence synthesized, not a raw indicator dump.

The response carries source timing so the user can judge recency.

Intelligence augmentation, not another trading engine.

Enrich a candidate

Add a current regime and evidence read before a rule-based candidate reaches a human or another agent.

“Call Draconic after a candidate triggers and attach the conflicts and missing evidence to the review record.”

Explain an anomaly

Ask Draconic to interpret an alert, unusual move, or model disagreement when it occurs.

“When volatility changes abruptly, call Draconic for the current multi-timeframe explanation.”

Give a research agent a specialist

Route supported market questions to Draconic while your system handles the wider workflow.

“Use Draconic as the market-analysis step inside a larger research pipeline.”

Create a revocable key and call one endpoint.

API and MCP share the same Draconic account and credit balance. Coverage and usage checks are free; successful intelligence analyses use one shared credit.

  1. 1Create an API key under Agent & API Access.
  2. 2Send the key in the X-API-Key header.
  3. 3Store the final analysis in your workflow; keep execution separate.

Example request

curl https://api.draconic.ai/v1/agents/ask \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "X-API-Key: <your-draconic-api-key>" \
  -d '{"question":"Where do structure and momentum conflict?","market":"nse","instruments":["NIFTY50"],"timeframe":"multi-timeframe"}'

Build a useful market workflow.

Choose a workflow below and adapt its example request. All examples use the same analysis endpoint.

Prepare a market briefing

A dashboard, research assistant or scheduled briefing needs the current market context.

Show the briefing with its source times. Market-wide requests require available overview data; they are not an exhaustive scan of every listed stock.

Example request body

{
  "question": "Summarize current Indian market breadth, sector leadership and conflicting evidence. Include source timing and what could change the interpretation.",
  "market": "nse",
  "market_wide": true,
  "timeframe": "5m"
}
Enrich a candidate or explain an alert

Your scanner, rules or model has already identified an instrument worth investigating.

Attach the complete analysis to your existing review. Your system owns the trigger and execution rules; Draconic supplies context, not an order or a guaranteed signal.

Example request body

{
  "question": "Review RELIANCE across the supported timeframes. Where do structure, momentum and participation agree or conflict? Separate observed evidence from conditional scenarios.",
  "market": "nse",
  "instruments": [
    "RELIANCE"
  ],
  "timeframe": "multi-timeframe"
}
Update a view through the session

You want to compare a later reading with the morning view or a previous update.

Reuse the returned chat_id for related follow-ups. Keep full responses in your own system. Recent conversation history is bounded; it is not an unlimited archive.

Example request body

{
  "question": "Since the previous read, what changed in NIFTY50 structure and options positioning? Identify changed observations, remaining uncertainties and conditions that would change the view.",
  "market": "nse",
  "instruments": [
    "NIFTY50"
  ],
  "timeframe": "multi-timeframe",
  "chat_id": "RETURNED_CHAT_ID"
}
Compare instruments or timeframes

A person or another model needs a consistent comparison rather than unrelated summaries.

Use up to five supported instruments from the same API market per request. For different markets, make separate requests and retain each response's source times.

Example request body

{
  "question": "Compare Bitcoin and Ethereum across the supported timeframes. Explain relative strength, conflicting evidence and differences in source timing. Do not turn the comparison into a trade instruction.",
  "market": "crypto",
  "instruments": [
    "BITCOIN",
    "ETHEREUM"
  ],
  "timeframe": "multi-timeframe"
}
Review a position you describe

You want market evidence interpreted in the context of an exposure you choose to provide.

Replace the bracketed text and instrument before sending. API access does not read your broker, saved trading profile or account-wide preferences. Supply only the position details you want considered.

Example request body

{
  "question": "Position context: [replace with instrument, side, entry and relevant horizon]. For RELIANCE, explain which current observations support or weaken my stated thesis and which conditions would change the assessment.",
  "market": "nse",
  "instruments": [
    "RELIANCE"
  ],
  "timeframe": "multi-timeframe"
}
Challenge a thesis or examine a scenario

Your workflow needs counter-evidence before a human or another agent accepts an interpretation.

Keep supporting and contrary evidence together. For a past-trade review, provide dated facts or retained answers; this endpoint is not a historical replay service or a forecast guarantee.

Example request body

{
  "question": "Test a bullish thesis for XAUUSD against the current supported evidence. What contradicts it, what is unavailable, and which observable changes would strengthen or weaken it?",
  "market": "commodities",
  "instruments": [
    "XAUUSD"
  ],
  "timeframe": "multi-timeframe"
}

One conversation. Related updates.

Create a revocable key in Agent & API Access and keep it on your server, in an environment variable. Check current coverage before relying on a symbol or timeframe. Coverage and account-usage checks are free.

First request — requires your own key

curl https://api.draconic.ai/v1/agents/ask \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $DRACONIC_API_KEY" \
  -d '{"question":"Explain the current NIFTY50 structure and options context, including conflicting evidence and conditions that would change the view.","market":"nse","instruments":["NIFTY50"],"timeframe":"multi-timeframe"}'

Save the complete response. For a related follow-up, send the next question to the same endpoint with the returned chat_id. Replace RETURNED_CHAT_ID below. Each successful analysis uses one shared credit; running both examples uses two.

{
  "question": "Since the previous read, what changed? Preserve the evidence that challenges the view as well as the evidence supporting it.",
  "market": "nse",
  "instruments": [
    "NIFTY50"
  ],
  "timeframe": "multi-timeframe",
  "chat_id": "RETURNED_CHAT_ID"
}

A conversation per instrument and trading session is a useful default, not a requirement. The service uses up to twenty recent turns. Start a new conversation for an unrelated task and retain your own full history for longer comparisons.

Want a working starting point? The two-step Python market brief example asks for a NIFTY read, saves the complete answer, and challenges that read in the same conversation when you choose. It needs no extra Python packages and makes no automatic background calls. Both successful steps use two credits in total.

JSON outside. Market analysis inside.

The HTTP response is JSON. Its analysis field is readable Markdown, not a fixed numerical signal schema. Put the market task in question; your application handles code, parsing, storage and any execution. You do not need to ask Draconic to output JSON or explain its implementation.

analysis
Keep the complete text, including the observations, contradictions and “What changes the read”. Do not reduce it to a direction or the first few paragraphs.
chat_id / message_ids
Use chat_id for related follow-ups. Keep message identifiers, when present, for support and reconciliation. Identifiers belong to the same authenticated account.
coverage
Retain the market, instruments, timeframe and source_updated_at. Different sources can have different times; keep any additional timing stated in the analysis too. After-close data can be useful when clearly dated.
credits / chart
Handle these optional fields without crashing when absent. Chart availability varies; the analysis should remain usable without it.

If another AI summarizes the response, ask it to preserve source times, counter-evidence, missing data and the conditions that would change the view. Keep Draconic's original alongside that summary. If you require fixed fields, validate your downstream extraction and retain an unknown state; a missing number is not zero.

Keep the integration predictable.

  • Send one intelligence request at a time per account. On 429, wait for the running request or follow the returned limit information. Do not create a rapid retry loop.
  • On 401, check the key or sign-in. On 402, check the shared credit balance. On 403, check whether your account has the required access. On 404, check the instrument, market or conversation ownership. On 400 or 422, correct the request rather than retrying it unchanged.
  • On a timeout or 5xx error, the outcome may be uncertain: a saved or charged request can outlive the client connection. Check account history and usage, or contact support with available identifiers before replaying it. Requests are not guaranteed to be idempotent, so a new request can incur another charge.
  • Request observations and conditional scenarios, not a guaranteed daily range, unconditional reversal or buy/sell instruction. Missing source data cannot be supplied by stronger wording.
  • API access does not read broker positions, saved profiles or presets, create alerts, place orders, or provide a raw market-data feed. Include relevant context in your question. Use your own application for scheduling and execution.
  • Never place your key in a public page, shared collection or log. Treat all model output as data, not executable code. Review it before using it in a consequential workflow.
